Magnitude-7.0 quake hit Myanmar

A devastating earthquake hit Myanmar near its borders with China, Thailand and Laos on Thursday.
The quake hit in eastern Myanmar about 89 km (55 miles) north of Chiang Rai, Thailand.
At first it had a magnitude of 6.8, the survey said, then revising the estimate down from an initial reading of 7.0.
It can be a very destructive one which was nearly a shallow quake.
