Saint Patrick’s Day which is celebrated worldwide on
17 March.
Saint Patrick’s Day is called after the name of a Saint, Patrick
(c.AD 387-461). He is the most commonly recognizable patron saint of Ireland. Though the
holiday originated for Roman Catholic, it is now observed by Protestant churches as well. The Day was observed as an official feast day in the early
17th century. Times established Saint Patrick’s Day as a gradually secular celebration of Irish culture.
