MLS|USA Major Soccer League 2011

A major professional soccer league used to organized in the USA which is popularly known as Major League Sccer (MLS) and sanctioned by the US Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer). The league consists of 18 teams in total of which 16 from U.S. And the rest 2 from Canada. MLS is standing on the top of the American and Canadian soccer rows of fame.
FIFA World Cup 1994 paved the way to found MLS as part of the bid of the United States’ in 1993.In 1996, the begining first season took place with 10 teams. The MLS seasons generally run through March to November, where each team scheduled to play 34 matches in the 2011 regular season. 10 Teams will take part in the 2011 post season MLS Cup Playoffs culminating in the championship game, MLS Cup.
MLS teams used to play total 34 matches in a double round-robin system where every team both hosts as well as visits other team once. All teams are separated in Eastern and Western Conference. In the middle of the season, teams join the annual All-Star Game, a exhibition between the league’s finest players and a top ranked club from a different league. After finishing the regular season, Supporters’ Shield is awarded to the team with the highest point total. The regular season is continued to the ten team MLS Cup Playoffs ending with the MLS Cup championship final.
American clubs have a chance to win three automatic berths in the CONCACAF Champions League as well as having an extra spot available through the U.S. Open Cup. MLS has also a facility for Canadian clubs who can qualify for only a single berth through Canadian Championship.
The 2011 –12 CONCACAF Champions League qualifying clubs are as follows:
MLS Cup 2010 – Colorado Rapids
Supporters’ Shield winner – Los Angeles Galaxy
MLS Cup runner up – FC Dallas
U.S. Open Cup Championship 2010 – Seattle Sounders FC
And to know winner of the 2011 Canadian Championship we have to wait till the very time come.
